Jamila is a Registered Clinical Counsellor and founder of Hilborn Psychotherapy. She holds a Masters of Counselling degree and a Bachelors of Arts in Psychology. She has been working with children, youth, and families since 2008. She has extensive experience in providing services to hospitals, schools, non-profit organizations, mental health agencies, and Indigenous bands. She has two offices that are located in Vancouver and North Vancouver. Jamila works as a Collaborative Divorce Coach & Child Specialist. Alongside her collaborative practice Jamila also sees private clients with a focus in eating disorders, gender transitioning, anxiety, parenting skills, depression, chronic illness, issues with family blending/step parenting/siblings, learning differences, separation/divorce, and belonging/abandonment. She understands that reaching out is never easy and therefore aims to provide a safe, judgement free atmosphere. Her clinical rooting is within play therapy, Narrative Therapy, Solution Focused, and Brief Therapy. Finally, Jamila is qualingual and offers counselling in English, German, Spanish and French.
