Justine Mercer is a family lawyer and trained mediator with extensive experience in all areas of family law. After more than 24 years of broad family law practice, including litigation, Justine has come to focus her practice on collaborative separation and divorce, as well as advice to couples entering into relationships.

Justine is committed to assisting couples and their children to go through the difficult process of separation and divorce in a calm, practical and respectful manner. Justine believes, based on experience, that this can be achieved, and can best be achieved outside of the court room, working collaboratively.

Justine also has significant experience working to help couples through the challenging task of negotiating agreements at the outset of their relationships or marriage. Justine works with couples to achieve this process with practicality and sensitivity.

In addition to her years of practice, both at a large firm in Vancouver, and since 2009, in her own collaborative practice, Justine has also authored numerous further legal education materials and has acted as faculty or presenter at further education courses for both lawyers and the public. Justine is an active member of the collaborative law community in Vancouver. She is a past board member of Collaborative Divorce Vancouver and a current board member and past president of the B.C. Collaborative Roster Society.
